Last season, the New England Patriots returned to the playoffs after a one-year absence.

Their 10-7 record was enough to earn them a postseason berth which their fans are accustomed to.

However, the Buffalo Bills outclassed them during their Wild Card encounter, proving that they still have a long way to go before becoming a legitimate contender.

But over the last four decades, the Patriots have had the continuous success that no other team can match.

That’s why they are hoping that they can hold on to this record after their 2022 season ends.

Sunday Night Football on NBC shared that the Patriots’ 400 wins are the most since 1980.

Not far behind, though, are the Pittsburgh Steelers with 396.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers are tied at 381.

Completing the list are the Dallas Cowboys (366), Kansas City Chiefs (360), Philadelphia Eagles (359), Miami Dolphins (357), and Minnesota Vikings (352).

The Patriots should keep on winning because the Steelers, 49ers, Broncos, and Packers have the personnel to help generate double-digit wins.

The Patriots’ Periods Of Success

In the 1980s, the Patriots made the playoffs three times and played in Super Bowl XX.

Unfortunately, they were dominated by the Chicago Bears which had one of the best defensive units of all time.

They also ended the decade with five winning seasons.

Jump to the 1990s and they lost Super Bowl XXXI to the Green Bay Packers.

Still, they participated in the postseason four times and had as many winning seasons.

They finally became one of the league’s best teams when Tom Brady became their starter.

He and head coach Bill Belichick led the squad to six Super Bowl victories, including back-to-back wins in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.

New England also had winning seasons from 2001 to 2019 and won 18 AFC East titles over that stretch.

After a reset in 2020, it seems like the Patriots are ready to re-establish their dominance.
