The Pistons Have Fallen Even Lower

The Detroit Pistons allowed the Milwaukee Bucks to score 150 points on Monday night as they were defeated by Giannis Antetokounmpo and his team, 150-130.

It was obviously a rough loss for the Pistons, who are having a pretty terrible season.

The team is dead last in the East with a 12-37 record, meaning that this season is already over for them.

The Pistons have had three straight wire-to-wire defeats. They haven’t held a lead in their last 174 minutes & 33 seconds of basketball (14 1/2 quarters).

When you look at the recent spat of losses, you see how bad things are.

According to John Schuhmann, they have now suffered three wire-to-wire defeats and haven’t held a lead in their last 164 minutes and 33 seconds, or 14-and-a-half quarters.

These latest losses have come against the Bucks, Chicago Bulls, and New York Knicks, and their last lead was held when they took on the New Orleans Pelicans back on January 13.

What should be done about the Pistons?

Everyone knew this season was going to be tough, even with the fresh new talents Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren.

But things got even worse when Cade Cunningham, last year’s terrific rookie, suffered a season-ending injury.

That was the final nail in the team’s coffin.

Will they ride it out with the squad they have now or attempt to make some big trades in the weeks and months ahead?

They actually have a few sizable trade assets, including Isaiah Stewart and especially Bojan Bogdanovic, who will be one to watch before the February 9 trade deadline.

Therefore, the Pistons have some options: they can continue to build the team they have or they can send away some of their players and formulate a new plan.

It’s too late for 2022-23 but that doesn’t mean the future won’t be bright eventually.
