The NFL Has Reportedly Passed A Major New Rule
The NFL has made some changes to the way they schedule games for the upcoming 2023 season, including the rules that govern primetime games.
On Monday, another such rule change was made when league owners reportedly approved flexing of Thursday night games.
This would mean that a Thursday night game could be rescheduled in favor of a different matchup.
The rule change means the league now has flex options for all of its primetime games.

Ever since the league started playing games regularly on Thursday nights, it has given football fans another day of the week in which to enjoy America’s most popular sport.
In the old days, fans had to wait nearly a week following Monday Night Football to watch more action on the gridiron, but those days ended years ago.
But the big downside to Thursday night games has been a shorter week of rest and preparation whenever a team plays on a Thursday.
With the league and fans concerned more than ever about player safety, especially when it comes to brain trauma, shorter periods of downtime are something no one likes, for multiple reasons.
But, of course, for the NFL, it means more revenue, especially since Thursday games are carried by a different outlet than games that take place on other days of the week.
Last season, such games were exclusively carried on Amazon Prime’s streaming service, marking the league’s apparent embrace of what has become a big source of entertainment that is slowly starting to replace traditional cable and satellite services.
