The Atlanta Hawks were part of one of the offseason’s biggest deals when they got Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs.

With Murray, the Hawks were looking to improve their defense and offense with just one player.

He seemed like the missing puzzle piece needed to help Trae Young and the rest of the young squad exceed expectations in practically every way.

The season hasn’t started yet but Murray is obviously enjoying his time with his new team.

Playing in Abu Dhabi in a preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Murray was getting fans hyped.

He scored 17 points in the first half of the game, eventually putting up 25 points to lead his team to a 123-113 victory.

Murray also had 9 assists, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots too.

This shows that not only can he score a lot but he can also stop the ball and shut down the other team, even if that team includes the Greek Freak himself, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Atlanta fans were exhilarated when their team got Murray and this preseason showing proves why.

Murray Fitting In Right Away

Murray might have had the best game for the Hawks but another was impressive too.

Young, the team’s leader, scored 22 points and 3 assists and combined with Murray for 13-of-16 free throws.

These two are going to be thick as thieves in the months ahead.

The team will definitely be relying on this duo that is full of promise and power.

Young was already one of the best point guards in the league and now that he has yet another star ready to play in lockstep with him, he can get even better.

The new-look Hawks are obviously ready to fly.
