The Dallas Cowboys have made great moves to improve their roster this offseason.

Some notable players they have added are wide receiver Brandin Cooks and cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

Both are massive upgrades for the Cowboys and should be impact players.

Other than bringing in players from other teams, the Cowboys have done a good job at retaining their players.

One of the top offensive players on the team last year was running back Tony Pollard.

He made his first Pro Bowl team and was exceptional as a runner and receiver.

As Pollard got set to enter free agency, there was no chance the Cowboys were going to let him go.

The Cowboys used the franchise tag on Pollard, which will pay him just under $10.1 million next season.

According to Adam Schefter, Pollard officially signed the franchise tag.

Most players are hesitant to play on a one-year franchise tag.

But, the running back market has been slow this offseason.

What Pollard will make next season is more than what the running backs are getting on the open market.

Now the Cowboys and Pollard can still try to negotiate a long-term deal.

But, at least the Cowboys know Pollard will be in Dallas for 2023.

With the release of Ezekiel Elliott, Pollard will be the bell cow in Dallas for the first time.

He should see his snaps and touches increase and should be in line for a career year.

If Pollard can have another Pro-Bowl caliber season, he should be in line for a massive payday next offseason.
