The Colts Have Another Intriguing HC Finalist
The Indianapolis Colts fell short of expectations this season, as they finished with a 4-12-1 record and missed the NFL playoffs.
It led to the firing of head coach Frank Reich, who was replaced by Jeff Saturday, a man who had only coached at the high school level in the past.
Saturday has become a candidate to become the Colts’ permanent head coach moving forward, which has drawn lots of criticism from across the league.
But he isn’t their only candidate, and one of their other prospects is Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.

Coming into this season, many expected the Lions, who went 3-13-1 in 2021, to have another miserable season.
But after starting 1-6, they surprisingly came to life, winning eight of their last 10 games and coming to the brink of claiming a wild-card playoff spot in the NFC.
After having major problems on the defensive side of the football in September and October, Detroit showed some improvement, and it held six opponents under 20 points over the last 10 contests of the schedule.

The Colts, meanwhile, finished the year ranked 27th in total yards given up and 30th in points and rushing touchdowns allowed.
Their nadir came in Week 15 when they took a 33-0 halftime lead over the Minnesota Vikings, only to lose by three points in overtime.
At the same time, Indianapolis also needs help on offense.
Quarterback Matt Ryan looks to be in decline, while star running back Jonathan Taylor missed six games with an ankle injury.
But if Ryan returns to form and Taylor is healthy for the entire 2023 season, the Colts should have a real shot at returning to playoffs, especially since they play in one of the league’s weakest divisions.
