The plan was that the Los Angeles Clippers would see the return of Kawhi Leonard this season and he, along with Paul George, John Wall, and a stacked roster, would help the team finally reach the NBA Finals and claim their first ring.

That was the plan – but that might not be reality.

The truth is that Leonard has not been playing nearly as much as fans had expected and the loyal followers who love the Clippers are feeling in the dark about his status.

Clippers head coach Ty Lue addressed Leonard’s absence from the game and gave a vague and disappointing update.

“There’s really not a time frame of when he is going to be back,” Lue told reporters this weekend.

He continued: “The biggest thing is just the testing that he has to go through with the medical and the slow progression of just getting better every single day. And so we’re just taking it day by day right now, not really a timetable.”

People are starting to get concerned if Leonard will ever play like he used to – and if the Clippers can manage without him.

Lacking Leonard Again

Leonard missed all of the 2021-22 season because of a torn ACL and he was supposed to be a pivotal part of the team upon his return.

But so far he’s only played for 42 minutes in just two games.

His last appearance with the Clippers was on October 23 against the Suns.

Since then, he has sat out for every game with very little information given about his situation and his return to the team.

The team has survived without him but there is no doubt they can’t claim the sort of postseason glory they want if Leonard isn’t suited up.
