Fans of the San Francisco 49ers are still feeling sore after their team lost in the NFC Championship Game a few months ago to the Philadelphia Eagles.

From the start, it was clear it wouldn’t be the 49ers’ day, as starting quarterback Brock Purdy went down early in the contest with a torn UCL in his throwing elbow.

But he’s expected back at some point early in the 2023 season, and in Week 13, San Francisco will get a rematch with the Eagles in Philly.

This will give the 49ers an opportunity to gain some measure of revenge, as well as send a message to the Eagles and the rest of the NFL about a month before the end of the regular season.

Although some are still picking Philly to win the NFC again, they look weakened, at least on paper.

They have lost two big pieces in Pro Bowl running back Miles Sanders and stud defensive tackle Javon Hargrave this offseason.

Hargrave ended up signing a lucrative contract with the 49ers, which will add some extra intrigue to that Week 13 matchup.

On the other hand, with the No. 9 pick in last month’s draft, the Eagles took defensive tackle Jalen Carter, a player whom many feel has plenty of potential.

Nonetheless, the Niners appear to have their best chance at winning the Super Bowl, something they haven’t done since 1994.

If they simply figure out their QB situation, an NFC Championship Game rematch with the Eagles could be in the cards for the 2023 campaign.
