Stefon Diggs Calls Out His Critics After Emotional Loss

Coming into this season, the Buffalo Bills were considered by many to be the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, and a big reason was wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

But instead, the Bills got humbled in the divisional round on Sunday by the Cincinnati Bengals, and Diggs had a message for his critics on Monday.

The 29-year-old had arguably his best season yet, posting 1,429 receiving yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns while earning his third straight trip to the Pro Bowl and helping the Bills to a 13-3 record.

But against the Bengals, he was locked down, as he caught just four of the 10 passes he was targeted on and finished with just 35 yards.

It was a humbling end to the season for Buffalo, which was also hoping to win its first world championship in order to honor safety Damar Hamlin, who suffered a near-fatal episode of cardiac arrest in the Week 17 matchup against Cincinnati.

Most expected the divisional round matchup to be much more competitive, but the Bills were never really in it, as they fell behind 14-0 early in the second quarter and never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.

They should still be one of the favorites for next season, as Diggs is still at the top of his game and quarterback Josh Allen continues to mature.

It was hoped that the offseason acquisition of linebacker Von Miller, who won a Super Bowl last year with the Los Angeles Rams, would be the last piece, but he tore his ACL on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions and hasn’t played since.
