This statistic shows how great their defense is lately.

So what is the 49ers defense doing which shows how great they are in the NFL?

PFF Tweets Out Graphic Showing How Great The 49ers Defense Has Been

Pro Football Focus took the time Tuesday to post a statistic about the 49ers’ defense.

With their past three games, the defense of the 49ers have become a lock-down defense in the second half, allowing zero points.

While other teams have allowed no touchdowns, it’s San Francisco who’s shutting out opponents in the second half.

However, a look into their last three games can tell us if these numbers are legit or just a fluke.

49ers Are Shutting Down Solid Offensive Teams

In their last three games, the 49ers faced the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, and Arizona Cardinals.

While the Cardinals were playing without their star quarterback, the Chargers and Rams still had their key players in the lineup.

So stopping these offenses for 30 minutes is a feat worth bragging about.

However, they will need to continue to do this to secure their spot as the leaders of the NFC West.

With the 49ers having games against the Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins coming up, they need a stout defense to stop these high-scoring teams.

While the 49ers have time before their first actual test, they need to keep the momentum in their favor.
