It’s been a tough couple of months for the Phoenix Suns.

From the offseason with the Deandre Ayton drama to Chris Paul saying that he didn’t learn anything from the loss to the Mavericks, all the way to Jae Crowder sitting out until he’s traded, it seems like there’s been trouble brewing in the desert from some time now.

Add Devin Booker‘s injury concerns to that list, and you have yourself a recipe for disaster.

Booker has always been a durable player who rarely misses any playing time.

But he was already forced to miss three games with a groin injury, and shortly after putting up 58 points in his comeback, he may have aggravated that condition.

Booker was only able to be on the floor for 4:20 minutes in the Suns’ Christmas Day loss to the Denver Nuggets, raising concerns left and right:

“I didn’t even see it,” coach Monty Williams told NBA.com. “They came to me when I was walking the sidelines and they said, ‘Man, we’ve got to get Book.’ I looked up and he had that look on his face and I knew something had happened.”

The Kentucky product is the team’s first-scoring option and one of the league’s most prolific scorers.

Chris Paul isn’t getting any younger and has also dealt with some injuries of his own, while Deandre Ayton isn’t likely to be able to shoulder most of the offensive load on his own.

Soft-tissue injuries are always something to look out for, so the Suns might want to be extra careful with their franchise player for the time being.
