It didn’t take Angelina Jolie too long to go back and visit her eldest daughter Zahara, 17, after dropping her off at Spelman College in August. Hello! reports that Jolie was photographed on the Atlanta, Georgia, campus with her daughter on October 22. Students and alumni on campus shared photos of the two during the school’s homecoming weekend.

Alum Crystal Toussant shared that she discussed Zahara’s time at the university so far when meeting Jolie and Zahara. “I spoke to Zahara & Angelina about her Spelman Experience!! She said she loves Spelman,” Toussant wrote. “I am so happy for her. Spelman is my happy place. The vessel that delivers young girls into extraordinary women who change the world.”

Jolie announced that Zahara was going to Spelman College, the nation’s top-ranked historically Black university or college, in August. “Zahara with her Spelman sisters!” Jolie wrote, sharing a photo of Zahara at the Los Angeles send-off party. “Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.”

Jolie spoke to People last October about raising Zahara and her five brothers and sisters, Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, and twins, Vivienne and Knox.

“They’re pretty great people, and because there’s so many of them, I think they’ve had a very significant effect on each other,” she told the outlet. “It’s not like I’m the head of anything. I’m very honest with my kids. And I’m very human with my kids.”

She added that she let herself evolve with them as they’ve grown into teens. “I have six very individual human beings in my home,” she said. “I am so excited about all the different stages and feelings and curiosities that they go through. Why wouldn’t you be? We’re supposed to help them figure out who they are. And you can’t figure out who they are if you don’t enthusiastically develop with them.”
