The Philadelphia Phillies not only returned to the postseason for the first time since 2011: they are also about to play their first World Series since 2009.

It has been a magical season for them, one full of obstacles but also excellent rewards for their perseverance.

They were 22-29 at the time of switching managers and giving Rob Thomson the chance to lead the team.

He did just that, despite a late scare, and beat some really impressive teams on their way to the Fall Classic.

Now, they are before their biggest challenge yet: the Houston Astros.

The Astros were 106-56 in the regular season and are 7-0 in the postseason.

However, the Phillies aren’t far behind at 9-2, and shouldn’t be taken for granted.

Any team that has Bryce Harper has a shot at winning a playoff series: it’s that simple.

The Phillies are hyping their fans with a cool image of Harper looking at the World Series trophy.

Bryce vs. the World, it says.

Harper Is Leading The Way But He Is Not Alone

It looks that way, indeed: Harper was .419/.444/.907 with six doubles, five home runs, and 11 RBI in 11 postseason games.

His 1.351 OPS in October is looking awesome.

However, he is not alone.

Rhys Hoskins has had a marvelous postseason, too, with five homers and 11 RBI.

Kyle Schwarber got hot in the National League Championship Series against the San Diego Padres and took his postseason OPS to .832.

J.T. Realmuto has two home runs, Alec Bohm has three doubles, and Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola have been fantastic at the top of the rotation.

Yes, Harper is leading the way, but he is not without help and that’s ideal for Philadelphia.
