Patrick Mahomes Is Getting Advice From A Legend

The Kansas City Chiefs are about to play in the AFC Championship Game for an amazing fifth year in a row, but there is some concern about quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who suffered a sprained ankle in their divisional round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend.

Mahomes finished the game despite the injury, and he said he had a productive conversation with Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal-caller Tom Brady afterward.

Brady is considered by most to be the greatest player in NFL history, and it is a place where Mahomes is hoping to get to.

When he won the Super Bowl following the 2019 season by defeating the San Francisco 49ers, many felt like he was on his way to entering that type of discussion.

However, the following year, he lost in the Super Bowl to Brady’s Bucs, as he played a terrible game, going 26 of 49 and throwing two interceptions and no touchdowns while being constantly harassed by Tampa Bay’s defense.

Two years earlier, Mahomes’ Chiefs also lost to Brady, this time in the AFC Championship Game to the New England Patriots in overtime.

This year, Kansas City will face Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, the team it lost to in last year’s conference title game.

The Bengals are favored by many to prevail, and Mahomes’ injury is one reason, as is the departure of wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

But by leading the Chiefs to victory on Sunday, and then to another win in the Super Bowl, Mahomes can continue to build his legend and move closer to equaling Brady’s nearly unprecedented resume.
