The Baltimore Orioles recently started to focus on the international market, and took a huge step forward in the player development department last year, particularly on the pitching side of things.

Those are two of the reasons that can explain one of the most incredible turnarounds in recent American sports history.

The Orioles went from winning 52 games in 2021 to 83 (!) in 2022.

That’s a 31-game difference from year to year, which is really hard to believe and 100% worth celebrating.

After a few years there, the Orioles finally got out of the AL basement and actually fought for a postseason berth.

They didn’t get one, but it was really refreshing and encouraging to see them competing this campaign.

Orioles Fans Have The Right To Dream Big After The 2022 Performance

The best is yet to come.

“The Orioles’ road to the 2023 World Series begins… NOW!!!!!”, Orioles blogger Matt Kremnitzer tweeted.

That is 100% true: the road to the Fall Classic, or toward success to speak in more general terms, will depend on what the franchise does over the offseason.

They need to bring in some talent to really compete and have a strong shot at making the postseason.

Kremnitzer said in the replies that he tweeted the same phrase every year, but he hasn’t felt this optimistic in years.

The Orioles have a ton of young, controllable MLB-ready talent in Adley Rutschman, Austin Hays, Felix Bautista, Dean Kremer, Keegan Akin, Spenser Watkins, Ryan Mountcastle, Gunnar Henderson, and many more.

After several years in obscurity, it’s their time to shine.

If the Orioles make a few impactful free agent additions or a really relevant trade for an established star, watch out.
