Nolan Arenado was a finalist for the National League MVP Award alongside his St. Louis Cardinals teammate Paul Goldschmidt and San Diego Padres star Manny Machado.

Ultimately, it was Goldschmidt who received the award thanks to a season in which he hit .317 with 35 home runs and 115 RBI.

Aaron Judge received the award in the American League.

But when Goldschmidt was announced as the clear favorite and both appeared on TV to talk about the announcement, Arenado didn’t appear to be disappointed in any way.

In fact, Cardinals insider Katie Woo caught a picture of Arenado’s reaction to his teammate.

In the picture, Arenado had a huge smile on his face.

Arenado Celebrates Goldy

Arenado received one vote for first place.

He put together a solid season in his own right, hitting .293 with 30 homers and 103 RBI.

At the end of the day, there could only be one winner, and the winner was Goldschmidt.

But Arenado didn’t mind.

Arenado earned a Gold Glove for the 10th consecutive season and also won the Platinum Glove Award in the National League.

So it isn’t as if Arenado didn’t take home any hardware.

But even before Goldschmidt was announced as the winner, there was nobody happier than Arenado.

He and Goldschmidt have formed a deadly combo in the Cardinals lineup, as well as perhaps the best corner infield duo in all of baseball.

They also helped lead the Cardinals to a 93-win season and their first NL Central crown since 2019.
