The New York Jets have decided on their newest offensive coordinator, just a few weeks after the conclusion of their season.

The Jets were the NFL’s fourth-lowest scoring offense in 2022, and are looking to improve dramatically in 2023.

Here comes Nathaniel Hackett.

Hackett has just been hired by the Jets as their new OC, fresh from being fired by the Denver Broncos.

Although Hackett was unable to find success as a head coach in Denver, he does have an impressive track record as an offensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers.

Under Hackett, the Packers’ offense was incredibly potent, especially in 2020, when they led the entire league in scoring.

Hackett helped lead the Packers to three NFC Championship appearances.

Now, he will get a fresh start in New York, a team that is in desperate need of a veteran coach.

We will truly get to see Hackett’s skills in action, as he will not have Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback, and will be forced to work with Zach Wilson, Mike White, or Joe Flacco unless the Jets make an unexpected change at quarterback.

The Jets are in a difficult division.

The Buffalo Bills are a yearly AFC contender, the Miami Dolphins have improved mightily, and the New England Patriots are on the mend as well.

With all of this in mind, Hackett certainly has his work cut out for him.

Will the Jets be able to pull it together with Hackett at the helm of their offense?

We’ll soon see.
