It’s been a long time since the Washington Commanders saw Chase Young playing on the field.

The former first-round pick has been out of action since he tore his ACL in Week 10 of the 2021 NFL season.

While it’s been a long year for both the Commanders and Young, both sides are getting some news on his injury situation.

One NFL insider is giving the scoop with Young and his chances of playing this week in Houston.

Adam Schefter Reveals Concerning News About Young

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reveals the Commanders have a limited time to activate Young for this season.

While many thought the star pass rusher was going to be active this Sunday, Schefter reports otherwise.

With a Wednesday deadline, the Commanders have a narrow window to activate Young for the 2022 season.

While they could activate him before the deadline, it is also a risk if he’s not ready to return.

With ACL tears taking time to heal, Young might not be ready for a 2022 return.

However, if he doesn’t return, it hurts the Commanders who put their stock in this Ohio State pass rusher.

With him already missing a full year of playing time, there can also be concerns about his ability to play.

If they feel he’s not game ready for the rest of the season, they might keep him out.

However, if there is hope that he can play, and the Commanders win on Sunday, they might activate him.

With their playoff chances hanging on each game they play, having him available gives them better chances in the playoffs.
