NFL Fans Have A New Streaming Concern
The NFL has been slowly moving towards streaming platforms lately.
Last season, it made its Thursday night games available exclusively on Amazon Prime’s streaming service, and for 2023, its Sunday Ticket package will be moving to YouTube TV.
This has some fans concerned about possible interruptions of service.
On Wednesday, during the final minutes of Game 1 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, YouTube TV stopped delivering the signal of the contest, and fans are wondering if the same could happen this fall and winter with NFL games.

The days of pro football games being available only on over-the-air networks such as CBS and FOX are long gone.
Years ago, “Monday Night Football,” which had been broadcast on ABC for decades, moved to ESPN, as both networks are owned by Disney.
In recent years, the league started moving some games to NFL Network, which is a premium channel that not all cable or satellite subscribers receive.
In general, people have been watching less television for about the last 20 years, mostly due to the proliferation of the internet, and an increasing number of people are canceling their cable and satellite subscriptions and opting for a streaming service package instead.
The NFL has been getting on this bandwagon, but like anything else, it has its downsides, such as possible outages.
In addition, some may have internet connections with substandard speed, which could cause games to be displayed on their device in less than optimum resolutions, leading to less enjoyment.
