NFL Draft Analyst Says 1 QB Prospect ‘Checks Every Box’

One of the biggest debates in the NFL right now is whether the University of Alabama’s Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud of Ohio State University should be the first player chosen in next month’s draft.

Both are very adept passers, but there are some concerns about Young’s modest size.

On the other hand, there are many who feel Young is simply the best all-around QB prospect in the draft.

One of those pundits is Daniel Jeremiah, who said the Crimson Tide standout “checks every box.”

Jeremiah cited Young’s pocket awareness, his ability to be mobile in order to create opportunities and his ball placement as the reasons why he is a can’t-miss prospect.

Young won the Heisman Trophy in 2021 as he put up 4,872 passing yards and 47 touchdowns, and this past season he had 3,328 passing yards and 32 touchdowns.

Under the leadership of the Southern California native, the Crimson Tide made it to the Sugar Bowl where they defeated Kansas City University.

However, Young is listed at just six feet tall and 194 pounds, and many feel he is actually shorter than his listed height.

On the other hand, Stroud is 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, and he has actually been a slightly more accurate passer than Young, as he completed 66.3 percent of his passes in 2022 compared to Young’s 64.5 percent completion rate.

It is rare to see a QB in the modern NFL who has been as “small” as Young but has been very successful.

But if Young has the high-level tools to overcome his lack of size, no one could go wrong with taking either him or Stroud.
