The Philadelphia Eagles have given quarterback Jalen Hurts a roster that will help him succeed.

There are no excuses for failure if he has A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Quez Watkins fielding his throws.

They can also pound the ground with Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott.

The team also re-signed Jordan Mailata to provide protection for Hurts.

But if nothing is going on with their plays, Hurts can just take off and gain the needed yardage himself.

CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr shared that Hurts is the eighth quarterback in NFL history to throw for 3,000 and rush for 750 yards in a season.

He finished with 784 rushing yards and completed 10 touchdowns.

Knowing the right buttons to plug will make the Eagles’ offense unstoppable.

That’s why coming into year three, the Eagles hope that Hurts has improved his decision-making, especially in choosing between a pass or a run play.

After all, there is still a lot of improvement in terms of his overall game.

Accuracy Is A Legitimate Concern For Hurts

In his rookie year, Hurts completed only 52 percent of his passes for 1,061 yards.

It’s a rate that led him to throw four interceptions against six touchdowns.

In his first season as the team’s full-fledged starter, his completion percentage went up to 61.3 percent.

Still, that’s a low rate for a starting quarterback.

Even Lamar Jackson, a player with the same style as Hurts, has a 64.4 percent completion rate.

It also isn’t reassuring that he had 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions last year.

That said, he must exert more effort to learn the nuances and tendencies of his receivers.

If not, the Eagles will only be good on paper despite a masterful job in building their roster this offseason.
