NFL Analyst Highlights The Eagles’ Efficiency On A Key Play

The Philadelphia Eagles‘ 2022 season was a year that the organization can hang its hats on.

Although they lost in the Super Bowl, they were a top-five offense concerning points scored, and a top-five defense in terms of points allowed.

Earlier today, one NFL analyst revealed another statistical category that the Eagles dominated.

The #Eagles were 37-of-41 (90.2%) on QB sneaks this season.

The Eagles converted over 90 percent of their attempted quarterback sneaks this season, including a 92 percent rate when Jalen Hurts was the quarterback.

In the past few days, there has been a movement to outlaw the specific type of quarterback sneak where players push the signal-caller, even though it has been a part of the NFL for decades.

As this CBS analyst highlights, the main reason for the proposed rule change is because of the Eagles.

Hurts’ athleticism makes him one of the NFL’s best at the quarterback position.

He is also one of the strongest players in the league, giving him a marked advantage on a play like this.

However, just because a player has an advantage, doesn’t necessarily mean that a play needs to be outlawed, or that rules across the league need to be changed.

If the NFL does end up changing the rules on plays like the quarterback “push” sneak, they will be met with scrutiny, especially from Eagles fans.

A major example of a rule change based on a single player’s ability was in the NBA and Wilt Chamberlain.

Chamberlain was dominating his opponents, and the NBA made several rule changes in an attempt for more parity across the league.
