NBA Writer Shoots Down Possible Blockbuster Trade
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently doing so poorly that some people are talking about a possible earth-shattering, league-changing, stunning trade.
Yes, some people are saying that the Lakers should think about trading away LeBron James.
While still one of the best players in the league, James isn’t performing as well as he or the team would like but he still retains a massive trade value, causing some LA fans to think maybe it’s time to send him away.
Since there are a lot of people talking about it (for whatever reason): LeBron James can’t be traded this season. First opportunity would be this coming summer.

But NBA writer Keith Smith says there is no way that’s happening.
Smith hopped on Twitter to remind Lakers fans who were gnashing their teeth and worrying about the team: “Since there are a lot of people talking about it (for whatever reason): LeBron James can’t be traded this season. First opportunity would be this coming summer.”
So James is here to stay – and that is probably for the best.
But how do the Lakers get fixed?
What To Do With The Lakers?
James is suffering from the worst shooting percentage of his career.
His lack of great shots only looks worse on this team because the entire team is struggling in that department.
James might get back into great shape and start playing better.
He has had rough patches before and has always pushed through them.
But how can the team around him get better?
The front office must be seriously considering the idea of trading away certain players and their future draft picks to build a stronger team with a better defense and outside shooting skills.
But one thing is clear: James will not be up for a trade.
Yet, anyone around him might be packing their bags.
