Nowadays, the Los Angeles Lakers are known as one of the most troubled, inconsistent teams in the NBA.

However, just a couple of years ago they were known as the best team in the league.

Two years ago, the Lakers won their 17th NBA Finals in the most bizarre, unique situation ever seen in modern sports.

There are people who still debate the importance of this Finals win but it cannot be denied that the Lakers were truly a force to be reckoned with that year and gave LeBron James his first Finals victory with LA.

Unless something monumental changes, it will be his last with the team.

Lakers In The Bubble

We all remember where we were when the NBA shut down.

Back in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic began to sweep through America and the rest of the world in March, causing the league to suddenly cancel all games for the safety of the fans and players.

A few months later, the league picked things back up in Orlando, Florida in the “NBA Bubble.”

All games were played in one locked-down location and the playoffs commenced and then concluded with the Finals between the Lakers and Miami Heat.

Since this Finals series, the Lakers have been aching to get back in playoff form.

They were pushed out of the playoffs in the first round in 2021 and then didn’t even make the postseason in 2022.

After some slight tweaks and a new head coach, the Lakers are attempting to get back to their previous glory in 2022-23.

Few people believe they have what it takes to make the Finals again but they could at least have a stronger regular season and playoff run.
