Last week, during the Monday Night Football showcase between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, a scary moment took place as Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field.

Hamlin was rushed to a local hospital and spent the past week in critical condition.

Awakening on Wednesday, the 24-year-old continued to improve.

One week after his near fatal experience, Hamlin is headed home.

The Bills star provided an update on the situation via Twitter and thanked everybody, from fans, players, and analysts for their support and well wishes.

MLB insider Bob Nightengale retweeted Hamlin’s message and commented, “The power of prayer won.”

The power of prayer indeed won.

Just a week ago, we were left wondering if that moment was the last time we would ever see Hamlin.

When he collapsed, the entire sports world watched in horror and was distraught over what had taken place.

But it brought out the human side of sports.

As terrifying as it was, the sports world immediately began to rally around the 24-year-old safety, hoping and praying that he would be okay.

And as it turns out, thoughts and prayers are quite powerful.

Even those in baseball, such as Joc Pederson, expressed their concerns for Hamlin, understanding just how serious the moment was and how Hamlin’s life hung in the balance.

But through prayers and healing, the sports world came together to rally around a man who was fighting for his life, and because of those prayers and the incredible work by first responders, Hamlin is headed home.
