The New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians were supposed to play on Thursday night in the Big Apple.

After an exciting Game 1 of the American League Division Series, everybody was looking forward to Game 2 tonight, in primetime.

However, the weather forecast in New York had rain written all over it for the night.

As a result, MLB decided not to risk any uncomfortable situations and postponed the contest until Friday.

The start time, however, is quite controversial: the league announced first pitch at 1:07 p.m. ET.

Since tickets from tonight’s game are valid for tomorrow in the new start time, many fans have voiced their frustration since there are no refunds.

“Having spent more than $450 on a pair of tickets to Game 2 of the ALCS (hopefully the Yankees make it that far!), I would be absolutely furious if the game got rained out and my only option was to attend the 1 PM rescheduled game or try to unload the tickets within 24 hours,” Samit Sarkar tweeted, for example.

The Change Of Time Didn’t Sit Well With Many Fans

Fans are mad because they had made plans to watch the game tonight, probably after work.

However, Game 2 will now be an afternoon game, a time in which many Yankees and Guardians supporters just won’t be able to even make it in front of a TV to enjoy it because they will have things to do.

“Can’t believe they pushed Yankees game 2 from tonight to tomorrow at 1 pm. Guess I’m telling the boss I’m taking a half day. #NASTYNESTOR,” @kylegerber7 tweeted.

He appears eager to miss half a day of work to watch the game.

YankeeMetrics tried to explain the situation:

“MLB always staggers their series, you have to when it’s a best-of-5/7 and broadcast on 2 networks. You can’t move up a playoff game, it’s unprecedented. The Yankees have to play at 1 PM on Friday because there’s already games in the 4:00 and 8:00 slots. It’s not complicated,” he tweeted.

Some Yankees and Guardians fans don’t care about the other games, though, so they are currently upset.
