MLB Analyst Shares Hilarious Take On White Sox Manager Search

The Chicago White Sox are currently in the midst of a search for a new manager after Hall-of-Famer Tony La Russa stepped down from the job.

La Russa was hired by the team prior to the 2021 season after the dismissal of Rick Renteria.

The move shocked many across the baseball world.

Were the White Sox really going to hire a manager who hadn’t been inside a dugout since 2011 10 years later?

Ultimately, that move didn’t pan out.

But as the White Sox continue to search for a new manager, MLB analyst Dan Szymborski had a hilarious take on the situation, predicting that general manager Rick Hahn might be looking for another previously retired manager.

I imagine the White Sox manager search is Jerry Reinsdorf naming a bunch of managers from the 1980s and demanding Rick Hahn find out which ones are still alive.

White Sox Managerial Problems

It’s always possible, right?

More than likely, the club probably won’t find another previously retired manager, but this was a pretty funny joke made by Szymborski.

Miguel Cairo could be handed the reins following a brief takeover in September when La Russa had to step away due to a medical issue.

The White Sox have also had conversations with Houston Astros bench coach Joe Espada.

Sadly, a decent number of managers from the 1980s era are not still with us, but it is still interesting that ownership thought of La Russa in the first place before actually hiring him.

There are a lot of directions the White Sox could go.

Ultimately, they probably will opt to not try and hire a retired manager, but crazier things have happened.

Right now, the White Sox are still searching for their man.
