MLB Analyst Has The Perfect Freddie Freeman Observation

ESPN reporter Buster Olney tweeted on Tuesday that Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman, angry and disappointed about the outcome of his free agency in the offseason, had fired his representation.

The player then released a statement in which he said he was sorting things out with his representation and that “last weekend in Atlanta was a very emotional time for me and my family.”

Evidently, he wasn’t too thrilled about leaving Atlanta, a city in which he lived since 2007, when he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves.

“I’m starting to get the vibe that Freddie Freeman wanted to stay with the Braves. Just a vibe, though,” MLB analyst and personality Jared Carrabis tweeted, quoting Olney’s tweet.

It’s definitely not easy to leave a place that you have called home for so long.

Freeman Apparently Wanted To Return To Atlanta

Freeman built memories in Atlanta that will probably last for a lifetime.

He won awards, he was crowned the league MVP, and he delivered the first World Series title since 1995.

And then he had to leave.

He wanted a six-year deal, but the Braves didn’t want to go that far.

Seeing how Freeman (or his agency?) didn’t want to take a shorter deal, the team negotiated a deal with the Oakland Athletics to bring in Matt Olson.

The Braves sacrificed money and players to find Freeman’s substitute, all while he was sitting on the market.

Perhaps seeing the Braves sign his replacement without notifying him broke his heart.

He then took a six-year deal from the Dodgers, but given how the situation is looking right now, it’s likely that he would have taken a five-year deal from the Braves.
