Luka Doncic Joined A Small Group Of Players

Luka Doncic and his Dallas Mavericks fought hard on Wednesday night and defeated the red-hot Utah Jazz in a very close 103-100 victory.

Months ago, few analysts expected the Jazz to be so competitive but they’ve started the season far stronger than many people envisioned.

Therefore, this squeaker of a win for Dallas is a big deal.

It’s an even bigger deal because it was another chance for Doncic to show off just how talented he is and how he’s on a whole other level this season.

Doncic was again on fire and scored 33 points, 5 rebounds, and 11 assists.

This was just another night for Doncic, a man who is easily in contention for MVP as the new season begins.

On Wednesday night, he became only the third player in the history of the NBA to start a season with seven straight 30-point games.

Head coach Jason Kidd put it best, saying, “I think it’s special when you talk about MJ and Wilt…a 23-year-old kid that’s playing at this level.”

Kidd isn’t wrong: Doncic is one heck of a player and truly special.

Luka Leveling Up

Before last season began, many NBA experts and insiders predicted that Doncic would be one of the top contenders for the MVP trophy.

However, that didn’t end up happening even though his Mavericks were able to play better than usual and even made the Western Conference Finals.

This season, the same people estimated that this could be his year to win the biggest trophy of the regular season.

And Doncic has gotten off to a banner start.

Doncic got a taste of the postseason last year and he’s eager to go back.

He’s remained healthy, he’s stayed focused during the summer, and he came blasting into the new year in playoff form.
