The New York Jets are starting their search for a new offensive coordinator after their season ended in disaster.

After a strong start to the season, the offense fell flat as the season progressed.

The inability to get their offense going in games cost them a shot at the playoffs.

While some of the blame is shouldered by Zach Wilson and his poor numbers, the rest of the blame falls on poor playcalling.

With the offensive coordinator job left open, the team’s search for a replacement finds them interviewing one notable person.

This person is Klint Kubiak, who is the son of Gary Kubiak.

With his father being knowledgeable about the quarterback position, the Jets hope he can help their quarterback woes.

He’s followed in his father’s footsteps, as he was the quarterbacks coach for both the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos.

However, some worry about how he’ll work out if he gets the offensive coordinator’s position.

His only experience in this position came in 2021, when the Vikings promoted him.

But if fans examine how he led the team in 2021, they will find his offense was slightly above average.

While other teams want someone beyond a middle of the pack coordinator, it’s much better than what the Jets had for their 2022-23 NFL season.

At the end of the season, the Jets were last in completion percentage, tied for 27th in passing yards per attempt, and 31st in passing touchdowns.

If Kubiak gets the job, he can easily help improve those awful numbers from the Jets’ passing game.
