Jalen Hurts continued his strong 2022 campaign for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, keeping him atop MVP conversations across the league.

In their 25-20 victory over the Chicago Bears, Hurts ended up having a historic day.

Hurts was spectacular across the board on Sunday.

He was able to rush for three touchdowns, and also threw for 315 yards as well.

Of Hurts’ 315 passing yards, 307 of those were split between two wide receivers, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

The Eagles have been the NFL’s most dominant team this season, and so much of their success can be credited back to the meteoric rise of Hurts.

Contributing Factors To The Rise Of Hurts

2022 marks the third season for Hurts as the Eagles’ starting quarterback.

During the 2022 NFL Draft, the Eagles made a big splash, trading their first-round pick to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for Brown.

Although much was unknown about how Brown and Hurts would connect, Brown quickly assimilated into the offense and in turn, became Hurts’ top target.

By adding a receiver of Brown’s caliber, although it wasn’t necessarily verbalized, the Eagles made a commitment to Hurts as their franchise quarterback of the future.

Hurts has certainly answered the call, and far exceeded their expectations.

Through 14 games, Hurts has thrown for 3472 yards, completed 67.3 percent of his passes, thrown 22 touchdowns, and only thrown five interceptions.

He has also run for 747 yards, adding 13 touchdowns.

Hurts’ 35 total touchdowns are just three behind the NFL’s leader, Patrick Mahomes.

Will Hurts be able to continue his strong play and win league MVP?
