After running out of opportunities in the NBA, J.R. Smith decided to look for new challenges and find new passions.

In the process, he decided to go to college to get a degree and add more accolades to his resume.

Moreover, he started playing golf, increasing his love for the sport and getting praise for his transition from the hardwood to the golf course.

Smith is taking this sport very seriously and recently revealed which PGA Tour even he’d like to play in and win.

“I think it would have to be the masters. I would like to win the Masters and get the green jacket. Have that, have the champions that are coming back. Have that almost open invitation that you can keep going back to the masters,” Smith said.

The two-time NBA champion was asked if he knew he would be asked to keep his shirt on to play in the Masters and to get the longed-for green jacket, but he confidently said that’s fine with him.

Smith has apparently found his place in the world after the NBA court, and he couldn’t be happier about it.

Even LeBron James has praised him for the decisions he’s made in his life and golf.

The former guard was a solid scorer in the league during his active days, helping the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, respectively, to win the NBA championship.

He’s focused on different things now, but his name remains relevant around the league.

Earlier this week he claimed Kyrie Irving was the best pure scorer in NBA history, once again giving a hot take for fans.

It would be great to see Smith at least competing in the Masters.

If he were to win that title, he would achieve something incredible.
