Grading Jeff Saturday’s Coaching Performance So Far

The Indianapolis Colts made a bold move to hire Jeff Saturday as their head coach after firing Frank Reich.

Saturday, who’s a former player for the Colts, had no NFL or college coaching experience prior to his hiring.

However, after two games, he’s 1-1 as the team’s head coach.

So how should Saturday be graded after his first two NFL games as head coach?

Colts Are Looking Better With Saturday As Coach

While the record of Saturday is 1-1, he’s already making the Colts a better team.

His first game was a win over the Las Vegas Raiders, which wasn’t a tough game for the Colts.

However, his second game was against the Philadelphia Eagles, who only had one loss on their record.

At one point, the Colts had a 10-point lead over the Eagles going into the fourth quarter.

The lead, against a top-ranked NFL team, shows how good the Colts are doing with Saturday.

But the ending of the game shows something else to fans.

While the lead by the Colts was impressive, they blew that 10-point lead.

It’s happened before this season, as the Colts have blown a nine-point lead to the Washington Commanders earlier in the season.

While those are the only two games where the Colts’ defense blew a fourth quarter lead, those blown leads need addressing.

With this, Saturday gets a solid A- for his first win and his close game against the Eagles.

If he makes some adjustments on defense, he can turn around the Colts franchise for 2022.
