Former MLB Player Reminds Fans Of A Sad Fact

2022 has come and gone.

Now, we inch closer and closer to the start of the 2023 season.

But last year, we got to witness a farewell tour of the ages.

The St. Louis Cardinals had two superstars who had announced their retirements and were playing their final seasons in the big leagues.

But even though it was the end for Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina, there was still plenty of magic.

The most memorable moment of them all was when Pujols crushed career home run No. 700 at Dodger Stadium.

On Twitter, former Cardinal Xavier Scruggs lamented the fact that we will never see the sweet swing of Pujols again.

Pujols certainly had a nice swing.

The way he connected with pitches was a sight to behold.

The 42-year-old gave Cardinals fans one last season to remember, putting together a historic second half that helped guide the Cards to their 13th division title.

Unfortunately, it ended in unceremonious fashion for both Pujols and Molina, as the Cardinals bowed out after two games in the NL Wild Card Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

But there was something to be said for Pujols and the way he hit home runs.

Every time he did it, Cardinals fans would rise to their feet and cheer as one.

And when Pujols hit his 700th home run at Dodger Stadium, fans of the Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers alike cheered in unison.

That was simply the type of reaction elicited by Pujols during his career, and his swing and his home runs will be missed.
