One of the main attractions of the MLB All-Star weekend is the Futures Game.

There, the best prospects in baseball meet to play a seven-inning game and showcase the skills that make them the most promising young stars in the game.

People who are perhaps not as familiarized with their play every day in the minor leagues get to see them in action, too.

Lots of today’s stars have played in the Futures Game when they were young prospects.

Most of them have good memories and stories to tell about the game.

The American vs. National League game will take place at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. ET.

For the Washington Nationals, Cade Cavalli and Darren Baker will be the team representatives.

A Cool Family Feat

That makes for a really cool story for the Baker family: Darren is Dusty’s son.

“Cade Cavalli and Darren Baker are going to the Futures game for the Nationals. Cool for the Baker family as Dusty is managing the AL in the All Star game at Dodger Stadium,” reporter Jesse Dougherty tweeted on Thursday afternoon.

Baker became one of the few managers with 2,000 career victories this year, and he will have another nice memory to tell his grandchildren: he will get to share an All-Star weekend with his son.

That’s probably every father’s dream: watching their sons go after their dreams and being among the best in their field, no matter what that is.

Baker, who has managed the Astros into the second-best record in MLB at 53-28, will be in charge of the American League.

Darren, a 23-year-old second base currently in High-A, will play in the future stars’ game.

What else can the Baker family ask for?
