One bright spot for the Cleveland Browns this season has been tight end David Njoku.

The 26-year-old has had a very impressive season through seven weeks.

He has caught 34 passes for 418 yards and one touchdown so far this year.

Njoku has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL.

Ranking third in receiving yards at the position and tied for second in 20+ yard receptions.

The former first-round pick is well on pace to smash his career-high in receiving yards.

In 2018, he had 58 catches for 639 yards.

Njoku will have no trouble passing those numbers this year if he can get back on the field soon.

Last week, the tight end suffered an ankle injury that could keep him out anywhere from 2-5 weeks.

But, Njoku might be thinking of a different timeline.

A Potentially Major Absence

For a team that has struggled to pass the ball consistently this season, Njoku has been a bright spot.

Jacoby Brissett is a backup QB that is doing his best to lead the offense.

But, he needs his weapons like Njoku to continue to play well to give this offense their best chance at success.

It seems very unlikely that Njoku will play on Monday night.

So that means Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Harrison Bryant will have to pick up the workload.

As the Browns wait for the return of Deshaun Watson in Week 13, they hope to still be in contention by that point.

But, with the look of their upcoming schedule, the Browns need to start playing better starting this week.
