The success story of Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller is remarkable.

He was signed by the team from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad despite his history of substance abuse.

But the Georgia Tech alumnus turned the tide with consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020.

However, he is looking to bounce back in 2022 after a subpar performance last season.

Unfortunately, he only played 11 games in 2021 and finished with 665 yards and two touchdowns.

Those are solid numbers for other tight ends, but not for him.

Yet despite that hiccup in his career, he still thinks that he is the best tight end in the league.

The NFL’s official Twitter account revealed who Waller thinks of as the top five tight ends in the league.

It’s no surprise that he named himself the best because it would have been weird if he had someone else at the top.

This ranking could be his way to motivate himself in regaining his peak form.

When he’s at his best, Waller is a handful for defensive players.

He can use his quickness against linebackers and impose his physical dominance versus defensive backs.

Who Else Is On Waller’s List Of The Best Tight Ends?

After him, there’s no argument with the tight ends he mentioned.

Travis Kelce has a chance to surpass Rob Gronkowski and Shannon Sharpe in the all-time receiving yards list for tight ends.

Meanwhile, George Kittle is arguably the best two-way tight end in the league and he is sharing his wisdom through Tight End University.

Kyle Pitts had a solid rookie season for the Atlanta Falcons and he’s looking to have better numbers in year two.

Finally, Mark Andrews continues to fly under the radar but he finished with 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Ravens.

Waller came up with a solid list that is hard to refute.
