The Dallas Cowboys had to make a tough decision this offseason regarding running back Ezekiel Elliott.

He was drafted by Dallas back in 2016, and he was a great Cowboy for seven seasons.

But due to the many hits he has taken in his career, Elliott’s body was worn down.

The Cowboys decided it was best to part ways with him this offseason.

Now Elliott is a free agent and has not found a new team to play for.

Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith thinks it might be smart for Dallas to re-sign Elliott.

Smith mentioned how Pollard is coming off a brutal injury suffered in the playoffs.

It remains to be seen how he comes back from that injury, and if he is the same player.

Pollard was the most explosive Cowboys running back last year.

But this injury could cause him to lose a little juice.

The Cowboys added a running back in the sixth round of the NFL Draft by selecting Deuce Vaughn.

But Vaughn is far from a power back as he stands at 5’6″.

While Jerry Jones has not dismissed the idea of bringing Elliott back it seems unlikely at this point.

Dallas cut Elliott because he was making too much money.

If he is willing to sign a veteran-minimum deal that may be the only way he has a star on his helmet next season.
