The Boston Celtics have done a great job of getting the fans to believe in them again.

They were ready to pack their bags and start their vacations, but they stormed right back to make this a series with back-to-back wins.

Even so, they’re still one loss away from going back home empty-handed, and that could lead to a string of major moves, per Colin Cowherd.

Cowherd believes that the Celtics should start taking phone calls if they don’t make it to the NBA Finals this season, hinting at them potentially breaking up their core once and for all.

Notably, this has been a talking point about the Celtics for the past couple of years.

It seems like the team cannot get over the hump, especially when it comes to big games, so people have questioned whether they’d be better off starting from scratch and retooling around either Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum.

Tatum and Brown are eligible to sign huge contract extensions and could make almost $300 million a piece in their next deal, obviously taking a huge chunk of the Celtics’ salary cap.

And while both of them are worthy of those contracts and they’ve already made it to the NBA Finals together, perhaps committing that much money to a duo that hasn’t been able to finish the job won’t be the wisest choice for Brad Stevens.

Then again, you never want to be the team that gave up on two young stars too early in their careers.
