Chiefs Defender Has The Perfect Bengals Burn

This year’s AFC Championship Game will feature a rematch of last season’s title game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.

In last year’s matchup, the Bengals won in overtime, as Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an interception early in overtime, which led to the game-winning field goal.

Kansas City linebacker Willie Gay Jr. threw some major shade at the Bengals when asked what impressed him about their offense.

Interestingly, despite featuring one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in Joe Burrow and stud wide receivers in Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, the Bengals ranked just 23rd in passing yards in the regular season.

However, they were fourth in passing touchdowns.

Cincinnati’s ground attack is also rather solid, as running back Joe Mixon had 814 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns this season.

While Mahomes is likely still the game’s best signal-caller, Burrow has gained more and more recognition for his steady hand.

Even though his numbers are also impressive, he won’t outdo anyone in terms of statistical production, especially someone as prolific and dynamic as Mahomes.

Rather, what Burrow excels in is being consistent and staying cool under pressure, to the point where he has drawn comparisons to Joe Montana and Tom Brady.

The big negative for the Chiefs is Mahomes’ ankle injury, which he sustained last week in the divisional round versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, and while he is expected to play, the ailment may take away some of his mobility.

In addition, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is no longer a member of the Chiefs.

Still, this Sunday’s contest should be a very competitive and entertaining one.
