We are now less than two weeks away from the beginning of spring training.

Soon, the grass will be greener, and the sun will shine brighter as we get closer to the start of the 2023 season.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t still time for some more offseason activity.

There’s also a team that could use a few tweaks.

The St. Louis Cardinals are coming off of a season in which they won 93 games and captured their first NL Central title since 2019.

But after the departure of Jose Quintana, St. Louis could use a starting pitcher.

On Twitter, one fan suggested former Cardinal Michael Wacha to fill the void.

Granted, with Miles Mikolas, Jack Flaherty, Adam Wainwright, Steven Matz, and Jordan Montgomery in the rotation, the Cardinals may not be able to fully guarantee Wacha a spot.

There has also been no indication that the team is interested in the right-hander at all.

But after a season in which he went 11-2 with a 3.32 ERA with the Boston Red Sox, many are surprised that the right-hander is still unsigned as of now.

The Cardinals are an interesting fit because of the connections to the organization.

The right-hander earned NLCS MVP honors with the team in 2013, his rookie season.

The team has also experienced an ugly trend in recent years of starting pitchers getting hurt in spring training, and at the last two trade deadlines, St. Louis has had to scramble to patch holes in its rotation.

A reunion makes sense and is always possible.
