It seems everyone is looking at the Carolina Panthers as they are moving players before the trade deadline.

However, with two players already gone, who is next to leave Carolina?

It seems one analyst is claiming one Panthers player is a “lock” to go next.

So which Carolina Panthers player is reportedly leaving Carolina before the NFL trade deadline?

Analyst Michael Balko Says Brian Burns Is Next To Go In Carolina

With Christian McCaffrey and Robbie Anderson gone, Michael Balko claims Brian Burns is next on the trading block.

Burns, who’s 24-years-old, has one year left on his contract, thanks to the Panthers exercising his fifth-year option.

With the Panthers rebuilding, and his contract set to take a $16 million hit to their cap next year, a trade helps free cap space.

While the Panthers should keep him as a part of the team’s rebuild, they might prefer to free cap space for moves in 2023.

If the Panthers trade him before the deadline, they might get a sizable return for him.

He’s a pass-rusher who’s on pace to break his career high marks in sacks and tackles this season.

With him making improvements, the Panthers can get a high value draft pick for the defensive end.

However, they might require teams to give them more than they got from the McCaffrey trade.

No matter who trades for Burns, the team bidding for him will need to give up a first-round pick.

For some NFL teams wanting to make the playoffs, that’s a fair price to pay.
