Alex Rodriguez had an incredible MLB career, one that only a handful of hitters can say they matched.

If he hadn’t been caught as a steroid user in the Biogenesis scandal when he was with the New York Yankees, we probably could be talking about him as a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

That did happen, though, and to the contrary of Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemens, and other players with steroids links, A-Rod was suspended after the league had taken the matter seriously.

Still, he was one of the best players of his generation, and one of the faces of the 2000s and early 2010s Yankees.

And despite being suspended for the whole 2014 season in the fallout of the steroids scandal, he put some incredible numbers in his Yankees career, one that started in 2004.

Ever since wearing the pinstripes, Rodriguez proudly represented the Yankees brand.

A Nostalgic Video Of His Last Game As A Yankee

On Friday, he posted a nostalgic video on Twitter: his last game as a member of the Yankees.

“My last game as a Yankee #fbf,” he said.

It came on August 12, 2016, against the Tampa Bay Rays.

That was the year in which the Yanks “sold”: they traded both Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman for incredible returns, including Gleyber Torres.

They weren’t really competitive that year.

A-Rod hit .200/.247/.351 in 2016, a far cry off his .295/.380/.550 career line.

In the video, he is shown touching a sign in the Yankees dugout, on his way to the field, that said: “I want to thank the Good Lord for making me a Yankee.”

That’s a Joe DiMaggio quote, one of the most famous in Yankees history.

Despite his highs and lows, A-Rod gave a lot to the franchise, including the 2009 World Series championship.
