The NBA has recently seen its fair share of scandalous news stories and controversies.

For a while, the biggest was the suspension of Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka.

Lately, heated talk has surrounded Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, and their on-court scuffle they had a few days ago.

The nasty headlines related to these teams have been numerous and embarrassing.

But they are giving joy to the fanbase of one team: the Philadelphia 76ers.

Spike Eskin was downright elated after the latest stories about Green and Poole.

On Twitter, he said, “Another NBA controversy that doesn’t involve the Philadelphia 76ers! a banner off-season.”

It wasn’t too long ago when the 76ers were at the center of humiliating stories and speculative tweets and rumors.

Moving Beyond Simmons

If you throw your memory back to just a year ago, it was the 76ers who were the talk of the NBA world for all the wrong reasons.

Back then, the team was struggling to handle Ben Simmons and his desire to leave the team.

Simmons had a horrendous postseason in 2020-21 and then decided he didn’t want to play for the team any longer.

When training camp came around, Simmons was willing to sit on the bench and avoid any team play until a trade was initiated.

There were numerous stories about Simmons, head coach Doc Rivers, and the rest of the team.

It wasn’t a good time for the 76ers and both sides were desperate for it to come to an end.

Eventually, it did and Simmons was sent packing to the Brooklyn Nets as James Harden came to Philly.

That was a situation that concluded positively for everyone involved – will the same be true for the Celtics and Warriors?
