We could be hearing an update on Damian Lillard’s future in the NBA at any moment.

For months now, everyone has been waiting to see where Lillard will go: will he remain with the Portland Trail Blazers or find a home with a different team?

Now, a new report from ESPN, via Legion Hoops, says that six teams have shown interest in Lillard since his trade request back in July.

Those teams are the Miami Heat, of course, as well as the Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Chicago Bulls.

As of now, it’s not clear which team has the best chance of landing the All-Star guard.

We all know where Lillard wants to go but it’s seeming less and less likely that the Heat have what it takes to entice the Blazers into a trade.

Over the last few days, the Raptors have seemingly become frontrunners but it’s also not clear what they are willing to offer in order to acquire Lillard.

Any of these teams would be happy to use Lillard’s custom brand of sharpshooting and team leadership.

It’s just a matter of what they would send over to the Blazers in return.

Lillard wants to win a title and inside reporting has suggested that is why he is so keen on playing in Miami.

But several of the teams on this list could be Finals contenders.

So, maybe he would warm up to the idea of suiting up for a franchise other than the Heat.

Media day for most teams is next Monday, October 2.

There is a very good chance that Lillard will be with a new team by then.
