3 Darkhorse Candidates For NBA MVP
The NBA season has kicked off with the first week having plenty of great games.
It is never too early to see what players could make a run at NBA MVP.
These Darkhorse candidates are all players that have not won the award before.
Nikola Jokic has won the MVP back-to-back seasons and it is unlikely he wins a third time.
So here are three candidates for NBA MVP.
Zion Williamson, New Orleans Pelicans
One of the most polarizing players in the NBA is Zion Williamson.
After he missed all of last season with an injury, Williamson is back and looks to be in great shape.

He could be in for a monster season, and the Pelicans could be a surprise playoff team.
Williamson has a chance to dominate in his fourth NBA season, all he needs to do is stay healthy.
Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics look like one of the best teams in the NBA at the start of the season.
They are 3-0 as they look to bounce back after losing the NBA Finals to the Warriors.
Jayson Tatum is the best player on the Celtics and has had some great regular seasons the past few years.

He has increased his points per game every year of his career.
While also making first-team all-NBA last season.
If Tatum can once again increase his points per game and lead the Celtics into the top spot in the East he has a great shot at MVP.
LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets
One of the best young players in the NBA is Hornets star, LaMelo Ball.
Ball had a breakout season last year and should be ready to take his game to another level this season.
Unfortunately, Ball has yet to play in a game this season due to a sprained ankle.
After averaging 20.1 points, 7.6 assists, 6.7 rebounds per game.
Once he returns to full strength expect to see increases on those numbers this year.
Ball has the talent of a future league MVP, so there is no reason to believe he can not win it this year.
