2 Warriors Who Have Shown Promise So Far This Season

The Golden State Warriors have a roster constructed of great veterans, and young players looking to carve out a role.

Well with the injuries suffered by Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins this year, the young players have seen their roles expand.

There have been two players in particular that have played well for the Warriors so far this season.

Both of these guys were entering the season with uncertain roles, but since have made the most of the minutes they are receiving.

Here are two Warriors who have shown promise this season.

Jonathan Kuminga

The Warriors selected Kuminga with the seventh pick in the 2021 NBA draft.

After playing in 70 games last season, and averaging 16.9 minutes per game, Kuminga is seeing a playing time increase this year.

The 20-year-old is averaging 18.6 minutes per game along with 7.5 points and 3.2 rebounds.

But, where he is making the biggest stride is on the defensive end.

Kuminga is turning into a reliable defender for a Warriors team that has struggled to defend all season.

His athleticism is through the roof and that helps him guard different players all over the floor.

The second-year player will continue to be counted on for meaningful minutes as the season goes on.

Ty Jerome

One player that has made the most of his opportunities while Curry has been sidelined is Ty Jerome.

The Warriors signed Jerome this season, and he has been a reliable player off the bench the past few weeks.

Over the past ten games, Jerome is averaging 10.0 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game.

He is also playing 21.4 minutes over that period.

While Jerome’s playing time will mostly disappear when Curry returns.

It is still good to know that the Warriors have a capable player on the back end of their bench if need be.
