Yaya Bey Announces New EP, Shares Video for New Song “Exodus the North Star”: Watch

Yaya Bey has announced a new EP: Exodus the North Star is due out March 24 via Big Dada. The six-track release includes guest appearances from Jay Daniel, Exaktly, and Nativesun. Ahead of the full EP, the Brooklyn-based vocalist has unveiled the title track from the release, which arrives with a new video. Check it out below.

“Exodus the North Star is my most vulnerable work to date,” she shared in a statement. “This is how I see joy and love in the world and what I aspire to feel and be. I have become an expert at turning my pain and grief as a black woman into music. Black people have a masterful way of telling our stories and sharing pain, but we’re also masters of joy and imagination. We have always been in a global conversation about how to alchemize our experiences and reimagine our circumstances.”

Exodus the North Star follows Bey’s second studio album Remember Your North Star, which included the songs “Keisha” and “Big Daddy Ya.” In 2021, she released her The Things I Can’t Take With Me EP.
