Yadier Molina Only Had Good Things To Say After Game 2
The St. Louis Cardinals season has come to an end, and so too have the illustrious careers of Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina.
With a crushing 2-0 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series on Saturday night, the Cardinals find themselves out in the Wild Card round for the third straight season.
Naturally, the scene in the Cardinals clubhouse was an emotional one, as the Cards said goodbye to two franchise fixtures.
When talking to the media after the game, Molina held back tears as he poured his heart out to the city of St. Louis, giving thanks to Cardinal Nation for 19 incredible years.
An emotional Yadier Molina after the final game of his 19-year career: “This is my home. St. Louis is my home. I appreciate all the fans for all the support over many years. … I’m blessed and happy the way my career went.”

End Of The Line
All good things must come to an end.
That’s the sad reality we face in life and in sports.
But Molina had nothing but good things to say.
He knows how much Cardinals fans love him and how much he and Pujols will be missed.
He was an icon in the city of St. Louis, having been a part of two World Series championship teams and four National League pennants.
It’s hard to imagine Cardinals baseball without Molina.
Since he made his debut on June 3, 2004, Molina has held a special place in fans’ hearts.
What set him apart from others was his ability to come through in the clutch, both at and behind the plate.
He could throw out base-stealers like nobody’s business and nab runners who were too far off the bag.
There won’t be another like him for quite some time.
Cardinals fans are certainly going to miss their stalwart catcher, but it was a great run full of magical moments and memories that will last a lifetime.
