Where did Louisiana Acadians come from?
Most of the Acadians are descendants from Poitiers City in the region of Poitou, France. This is the story of how the Acadian arrived in Acadia, settled it, where ultimately the British forcibly deported them with massive loss of Acadian life. Their descendants are the Cajuns of Louisiana.
